Master Bedroom

We are working on our bedroom. Just a few days ago it was brown and gloomy. We haven’t touched this bedroom since the first year we moved in. Guess we were too busy working on baby nurseries and toddler rooms. So, now it’s our turn. We really wanted to lighten it up and make it more of a room that we enjoyed walking into. We had to keep things cheap and so here is a step-by-step on what we have done at this point.

  • Painted walls seafoam green
  • Painted all trim and door with satin white
  • 2 curtain rods
  • 4 white curtain panels
  • White Duvet
  • Seafoam bed sheets
  • 2 pillows for the white shams
  • Closet curtain rod
  • Closet curtain panels
  • Vanity my hubby made

We’re not finished, but we have made huge leaps. Still on the to-do list:

  1. light fixture
  2. ottoman or bench for the end of the bed
  3. new bench for my vanity (borrowing Alivia’s)
  4. possibly a rug
  5. definitely wall art

No more sliding brown doors. I love the rod and curtain fix. It's so much easier and I can actually store more in my closet.

I love the vanity P.J. made for me. It's small, but that's why he made it. We just didn't have the space for a regular vanity in our room. It's all I need and it beats sitting on the side of the toilet every morning!
